Dog walking

Walking your dog is not just great exercise for them but it will give them a chance to socialize with other dogs and play. With our busy lives, or through ill health we can not always give our dogs the time they need to enjoy the countryside, smell the air, have fun and enjoy themselves. We offer a dog walking service where we can either pick your dog up and drop them off afterwards or they can come along to our doggy day care and spend time socializing.

Dog running

Running is a great alternative to walking if you are unable to let your dog off the lead for various reasons to ensure fitness and fun. Dog running is offered to ‘up the pace’ but please make sure your dog has been vet checked to run with Karen and runs at a controlled pace without pulling. We use a canix harness for training which is lots of fun! We can run up to an hour on the beach or in the countryside within the Brighton area – Hanover, Kemp Town, Woodingdean or Rottingdean. Karen is particularly interested in canine massage (Wiki 2016). This massage is highly beneficial before walking or running to warm up your dog’s joints and as a cool down following exercise, as dogs go from sleeping mode into bounding around and then back into sleeping mode again. Running sessions are individually arranged and will be on a one to one basis with your dog. Please make sure your dog has been vet checked to run.

Dog Obedience

Wednesday night’s at the Hanover Community Centre is obedience dog training. Here you will learn the joys of owning a well behaved dog. It is essential for good responsible dog ownership and the rewards truly pay off. No more will your dog barge past you to get through the door first, or pull annoyingly on the lead or bark incessantly causing disturbance. Good manners, socialisation plus the priority being the recall and the emergency stop which could save your dogs life. The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training programme in the UK. The training programme has been operating since 1982. The scheme is open to all dogs, young and old, pedigree or crossbreed, whether Kennel Club registered or not. Dog owners of any fitness level or disability can take part too. The scheme is non-competitive and emphasis is placed on the standard of achievement.
